LAURETANA AND SUSTAINABILITY: TWO DROPS OF WATER
Sustainability means respect for the environment, but not only. It means to commit oneself to hand down a better world from an environmental, social and economic point of view to the future generations. Since we are a firm intrinsically linked to well being and nature, we feel strong responsibilities and we want to devote ourselves every day to improve our territory and the Planet, following the direction shown by United Nation and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Following a virtuous process, Lauretana has obtained the coveted environmental certification ISO:14001, that defines the fundamental requisites for the realization of a System of environmental management aimed at a better sustainability. The adoption of this System implies the responsible, conscious and effective use of the natural resources necessary to the productive processes, promoting at the same time activities for the reduction of the consumptions and for an efficient waste management, where it is favored the recovery and recycling of the materials concerning their disposal, so that Lauretana can perfectly realize the principles of circular economy and create value for the whole system, to the benefit of the environment and employment.
The bottles of our products are all completely recyclable. We bottle Lauretana water in glass, with a system of returnable bottles so that we can reuse the containers repeatedly, and in 100% recyclable PET that, as a result of a correct sorting of waste of the customer, can be recycled countless times without losing its essential properties, thus creating products useful in the daily life. Besides this, we take care of any detail: for example, we also recycle the aluminum caps of the returnable glass bottles, through dedicated processes of sorting of waste.
To improve the water and energetic saving and reduce, at the same time, consumptions, we have realized great investments in highly technological machineries from the partner Krones, leader firm at a world level in the bottling systems. In this way Lauretana has drastically reduced the energetic and water consumptions, above all during the phases of industrial washing, so that we can affirm that to bottle water, we use less water. All our lines and equipment are high- tech and grant a production with less impact on the environment and at the same time with a complete safety for the workers.
Lauretana has made a choice: to treat in a responsible and conscious way the natural resources in the productive processes, reducing the consumptions and favoring the reuse and recycling of waste. We have created new job and development opportunities, respecting nature and the local identity: dealing with a natural product it is of fundamental importance the greatest safeguard of the sources where Lauretana springs as well as the correct management of the territory, thus our intervention contributes to preserve and maintain it unpolluted.

Lauretana has been working in this field for more than 50 years, our brand is well-known throughout Italy and in many parts of the world. That is the reason why we feel stronger and stronger the need to set an example and sensitize our customers not only concerning the separate waste collection, but also about the principles we believe in. For this reason, we use our instruments of communication (such as social networks, our site, newsletters) to divulge them and stimulate in the customers actions addressed to their well being as well as the community one.
With the passing of the years we realize more and more that our customers not only drink Lauretana water for its excellent characteristics, but they also share the values of the firm, supporting our social commitment.
In 2023 Lauretana has been awarded with the Ecovadis Platinum Medal, a third party certification authority that has certified the concrete commitment of the firm from Graglia concerning sustainability. It is present in more than 160 Countries in the world, it includes the voluntary participation of more than 75.000 companies in 200 commodity sectors. The Ecovadis program does not only consider the careful monitoring of the verifiable parameters of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), but it also suggests actions aimed at the constant improving of the environmental and social procedures in line with the institutional assets on the subject of sustainability.
